Location: The city of Athens is situated in the prefecture of Attica and extends from Pendeli mount to the sea and from Imetos mount to Aigaleo district and lies in an area of 433 kilometers. The major port of Athens is called Piraeus. Athens is surrounded by beautiful mountains such as Aigaleo, Parnitha, Pendeli, Imetos, and large hills such as Likavitos, Acropolis and Arios Pagos.

Athens Weather: The year-round climate is mild with a lot of sunshine and not much severe rain, although this seems to be changing as the global climate changes. In summer, visitors should be equipped with a hat and sunglasses, sunscreen, and light clothes due to the bright sunlight and the heat. Sometimes there are long term heat waves and the temperature can reach 40-42 degrees C. The average temperature is 17.8 while the winds are usually northern, or north-eastern.
