Europe Cruises are in High Demand

European destinations have become very popular among cruise ship travelers these days. Cruisers can travel aboard a luxury yacht, carrying around 100 passengers or less, or a huge ship carrying 3,000 passengers or more. Just about every itinerary you can think of can be fulfilled given the number and types of vessels deployed. Check it out:

CELEBRITY CRUISES' four ships will take passengers from Casablanca to Cornwall, from the Bosporus Strait to the best of ancient Greece.

COSTA CRUISES offers 273 departures, running 10 vessels both seasonally and annually throughout the year. The cruiseline's destinations include the Eastern and Western Mediterranean, the Greek Isles, Northern and Western Europe and the Baltics.

CRYSTAL CRUISES' Crystal Symphony hits Western Europe, the Baltic countries, Russia, the North Cape/Arctic and the British Isles. Another ship, the Crystal Serenity, also visits Western Europe, plus the Mediterranean, the Black Sea and Canary Islands. Or maybe you'd rather go from France's Toulon to Sochi, Russia, and Eidfjord, Norway?

CUNARD LINE'S Queen Mary 2 is all over the European map: England, Norway, France, Spain, Germany, Portugal and Italy. Queen Elizabeth 2 ports in Italy, Norway, France, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Turkey, Greece and Malta.

DISNEY CRUISE LINE is now heading to Europe, too, launching from Barcelona, Spain.

Want more options?

HOLLAND AMERICA LINE is in Europe nearly year-round these days, hitting Western and Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, North Africa and the Black Sea. The length of itinerary ranges from 10- to 56-days with 136 ports of call. Have you ever been to Slovenia?

MSC CRUISES departs from Genoa, Livorno, Naples, Rome, Venice, Bari and Barcelona. Three of their ships are positioned in Northern Europe.

NORWEGIAN COASTAL VOYAGE utilizes 11 ships up and down Norway's coast and two more that go to Spitsbergen in the Arctic. They have added escorted land/cruise packages that combine Sweden and Norway with a six-day voyage along Norway's coast; and itineraries to Greenland aboard Fram, a new expedition ship designed for cruising the country's iceberg-filled seas.

Other lines that hit Europe hard include: Norwegian, Oceania, Orient Lines, Princess, Regent Seven Seas, Royal Caribbean, Seabourn, Seadream Yacht Club, Silversea, and Windstar.
