Gold Coast Travel

Gold Coast Tourism

The Gold Coast is home to Australia's most exciting theme parks. The oldest is Sea World, where you'll find a range of aquatic animals and thrilling rides. Here you'll see Australia's only polar bears, performing dolphins at Dolphin Cove, and the country's first triple-loop roller coaster, The Corkscrew.

For more fun with water, enjoy the slides and pools at Wet'n'Wild. The wave pool is popular all year round, especially in summer when it becomes a "dive-in" movie theatre.

With a three-park super pass you can visit both these parks and Warner Bros. Movie World. This movie-themed park brings all the glamour of Hollywood to the Gold Coast. You can meet your favorite Warner Bros. characters, experience action-packed rides and laugh at the comedy stunt shows.

If you're still hungry for more adventure, visit the Gold Coast's other theme parks: DreamWorld and WhiteWater World.

After all that excitement you'll want to take it easy, and a visit to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is just the way to do it. More than just another zoo, Currumbin gives you the chance to get up close and personal with Australia's native creatures. You won't forget the cheeky lorikeets that will land on your head and feed straight from your hand.

A visit to the Gold Coast wouldn't be complete without seeing its world-famous beaches. Snapper Rocks offers the best surfing in these parts, while families will enjoy Burleigh Heads, Kirra Beach and Tallebudgeera Creek.

It's not all surf and sand in the Gold Coast; the area is also home to a stunning hinterland region. Keep your eyes peeled for native animals in the tropical national parks, which also feature waterfalls and unique rock formations.

Gold Coast Restaurants

Tedder Avenue at Main Beach is the Gold Coast's most famous dining area, with hundreds of eateries lining the street. A range of cuisines, including Thai, Chinese, Japanese and Italian can all be found alongside wine bars, tapas bars and stylish cafés. Tedder Avenue is the perfect place to take advantage of the warm Queensland nights with dinner under the stars.

Surf clubs are an integral part of Gold Coast culture, and this extends to the region's dining. These are great places to enjoy affordable meals served up with ocean views. Try the surf clubs at Kurrawa and Kirra and you won't be disappointed.
