Australia Travel

Australia, the world's largest island, is renowned for its sun, surf, and sand. Yet this nation offers a diversity that will surprise many visitors. Australia is divided into six states and two territories, with each providing you with an unforgettable traveling experience. From high-rise cities to snowfields, tropical rainforests to the deserts of "the Outback", Australia really does offer something for everybody. Due to its isolation and distinctive environment, Australia is home to thousands of unique plants and animals, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers.

australia travel photoWhile Australia's surroundings may surprise, so too will its people. While Australia is famous for rugged "blokes" like Paul Hogan and Steve Irwin, it prides itself on a truly multicultural population. For thousands of years before European explorers arrived, indigenous people thrived in Australia. Today, thousands of immigrants, predominantly from Europe and nearby Asia, make Australia their home every year. With such varied cultural influences, Australia enjoys a diverse range of fashion, popular culture and cuisine.

Australia has a reputation for being a safe and welcoming destination. Australians are known for their friendly nature and carefree attitude. English is Australia's official language, making communication easy for most travelers. Australia's political climate is also stable. Guns are strictly controlled, so violent crimes are uncommon. While Australia's climate is varied, it rarely experiences the extreme conditions of other continents. Natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis are rare, although many areas experience bushfires in summer (December to February).

While the weather is often uncomfortably hot in summer, it's also a great time to cool down at one of the country's famous beaches. The snowfields of New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania are abuzz throughout winter (June to August). Spring and fall offer mild weather that's sure to please any visitor. Any time is a great time to visit Australia.
