Flying to Alaska

When planning your flight to Alaska, remember that the majority of Alaska (save the far-off Aleutian Islands) is in the Alaska Time Zone. It's four hours behind the U.S. East Coast and one hour behind the West Coast.

By Air

Tucked away at the Northern edge of the Pacific Ocean,. During summertime especially, many airlines offer non-stop service to the state, including Atlanta, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Minneapolis, Portland, Salt Lake City, San Francisco and Seattle.

A number of domestic airlines provide service to Alaska, including Alaskan Airlines, American, Continental, Delta, Northwest and United. No matter where you're coming from, chances are you'll be landing in one of the three major airports in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau.

Travelers coming to the U.S. from overseas or Canada will need passports.
